What is Yorkstone Flagging?

Yorkstone Flagging was developed in the Southern Highlands of NSW in 1978.

Our special process reconstitutes stone for flagging, paving and kerbing which weathers naturally over 6 months to a unique earhtly patina which gives timeless elegance and improves with age.

Yorkstone Flagging is not industrially manufactured. A unique product, each flagstone is individually crafted on and laid onsite, so that each has its own shape and colour echoing natural stone.

Site Preparation.

We can prepare the site for you before laying the flagging if you wish. Ask us for a site preparation quote.

Alternatively, we can lay the flagging on already prepared ground or inside the house.

Yorkstone Flagging can be laid over grass, concrete, sand or metal dust for a firm foundation.

Types of Finish.

Yorkstone Flagging is laid in random patterns, either random squares or random coursework.

There is a choice of two finishes - a natural earthly grey colour, or a pale honey colour.

When newly laid the flagging is dark in colour, but the stones weather naturally over 6 months to their natural intended aged colour.

Yorkstone Flagging can be sealed when laid around pool areas, or when laid indoors as a natural stone flooring.

Uses.

Yorkstone Flagging is ideal for paths, driveways, steps, patios and terraces. It can also be used to create garden features and for indoor flooring. Used outdoors it inhibits unsightly weeds.

Yorkstone Kerbing can be used for garden and path edging, or for low retaining walls.

Yorkstone Flagging matches well architecturally with brick and sandstone features.

See our Photo Gallery for some typical installations.

Quick and Economical.

You will find Yorkstone Flagging is more cost effective than other types of paving.

Once site preparation is complete, our team can typically lay from 10 to 30 square metres of paving in one or two days, keeping disruption during construction to a minimum.

Stonemasonry.

At Yorkstone Flagging we also specialise in stonemasonry - from integrating stonework with Yorkstone in landscaping, to cladding buildings in sandstone.
